Architecture and history

The villa was built in 1822 as a ducal villa in the Swiss style, possibly based on a design by Karl Friedrich Schinkel . It served as the summer home of the ducal family of the Principality of Anhalt-Bernburg around Alexius Friedrich Christian and their guests. The building shaped the appearance of the Alexisbad spa.

During the last days of the Second World War, the villa was hit by American troops and burned down. The ruin was later demolished. Only a tool shed that originally belonged to the villa remained .
