Foundation and purpose

The Center was established in 2009 due to a later one postulate converted motion by Maya Graf on behalf of the Federal Council and the Federal Assembly established. The basic mandate is to conduct applied research and provide services in the field of risk assessment.

The SCAHT is financially supported by the Swiss Confederation and works with the federal authorities SERI , FOPH , FSVO , Swissmedic , FOAG , SECO and FOEN .

The physician Martin F. Wilks has headed the institute since 2009.
