Schwennenbach is a district of Höchstädt an der Donau in the district of Dillingen an der Donau ( Bavaria ).
geography
The parish village is five kilometers north of Höchstädt at the transition from the Blindheimer high terrace to the Liezheimer Alb . It is traversed by the Kugelbach, which rises on the Kugelberg, southwest of Oberliezheim . Originally this brook was probably called Swindenbach , this name was transferred to the place.
history
Schwennenbach is first passed down as Swinnenbach in 1241 . Until the middle of the 14th century, the place was the seat of a lower noble family .
With the Vogtei Höchstädt Schwennenbach came to the Duchy of Bavaria through the Conradin inheritance in 1268 . In 1505 the newly formed principality Pfalz-Neuburg came into being .
The place belonged to the district court of Höchstädt until the district offices were formed in 1862 . On May 1, 1978, the previously independent community of Schwennenbach was incorporated into Höchstädt.
