The Schwobbach is an approximately one kilometer long left tributary of the Sauer in the southern Palatinate .

course

The Schwobbach rises at an altitude of 212  m above sea level. NN in a contained spring in the western Wasgau in the forests of the Schönau state forest between the northern slope of the Schwobberg and the southern foothills of the Great Adelsberg . It flows first about 260 m northwest, then turns to the southwest. After another 200 m it disappears piped underground and is fed by a forest stream on its left side. About a quarter of a kilometer to the west, it reappears on the surface and shortly thereafter is dammed into two small fish ponds. It now crosses under the L488 and finally flows out at an altitude of 212  m above sea level. NN north of Schönau in the approximately 120 hectare nature reserve Königsbruch in the Saarbach .

environment

The Schwobbachtal is bins vegetated wetlands , Sedge and tall herb corridors marked. Numerous rare plant species thrive in this environment.

The insect world is u. a. represented by cup azure and blue-green mosaic maiden , as well as stone flies and caddis flies . Also water frogs and the wagtails were observed.
