Scipione Tecchi (born June 27, 1854 in Rome , † January 22, 1915 ibid) was a Curia Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Scipione Tecchi studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Pontifical Seminary in Rome . He received on 23 December 1876, the sacrament of Holy Orders , and then worked as a chaplain in the Diocese of Rome . From 1893 he performed various legal tasks for the Vatican . In 1906 he became an advisor to the Congregation for Rites , and in 1908 he became secretary of the College of Cardinals . In 1914 Pope Pius X accepted him as a cardinal deacon with the title deaconry Santa Maria in Domnica in the cardinals college and appointed him Pro- Prefect of the Congregation for Rites. He took part in the 1914 conclave that Benedict XV. when Pope voted.

Scipione Tecchi died on January 22, 1915 in Rome and was buried in the Campo Verano cemetery there.
