Scott Douglas (born December 12, 1963 in Bangor ) is a retired American wheelchair tennis player .
Career
Scott Douglas began wheelchair tennis at the age of 23 and started in the paraplegic class .
He took part in a total of three Paralympic Games . In 1992 in Barcelona and 1996 in Atlanta he only competed individually and was eliminated both times in the round of 16. At the Games in 2000 in Sydney , he failed in a single in the second round. For the first time he also appeared in the doubles competition, in which he immediately reached the semi-finals with Stephen Welch . She lost to David Hall and David Johnson in three sets. In the ensuing bronze game they defeated Simon Hatt and Jayant Mistry .
In the world rankings, he achieved his best placings with sixth place in singles on June 21, 1994 and with the world rankings in doubles on July 14, 1998.
