Scott Frandsen

Scott Frandsen (born July 21, 1980 in Kelowna ) is a retired Canadian rower who won the 2008 Olympic silver in a double without a helmsman .

Athletic career

Frandsen won the gold medal with the Canadian eighth at the U23 World Championships in 2001 and silver in 2002. Also in 2002 he competed with Cameron Baerg in two without a helmsman at the World Championships in the adult class and took seventh place. The following year Frandsen reached sixth place at the world championships with Wayne Pommen . In 2004 Frandsen moved to eighth place and finished fifth at the 2004 Olympic Games . At the 2005 World Championships , Frandsen rowed to seventh place with the Canadian eighth. In 2006 in Eton he finished eighth in the four without a helmsman , in 2007 in Munich the four only made it to the C-final.

At the 2008 Olympic Games , Frandsen and David Calder competed in two without a helmsman, behind the Australians Drew Ginn and Duncan Free the two finished second with almost five seconds ahead of third-placed New Zealanders. In 2011 Calder and Frandsen returned to the international regatta courses and qualified with a fifth place at the World Championships for the 2012 Olympic Games. At the Olympic regatta in Eton , the two finished sixth.
