Scott Krinsky (born November 24, 1968 in Washington, DC ) is an American actor and stand-up comedian . His best-known roles are Darryl in the television series OC, California and Jeff in Chuck .

biography

Scott Krinsky was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Olney , Maryland , 22 miles north of Washington, DC. As a child he had the desire to become an actor. Until 1990 he studied broadcast journalism and communication science at Salisbury University in Salisbury , Maryland. During his studies he worked briefly for the US television station CNN . He ended his work there when he took his first acting classes and eventually moved to Los Angeles to become an actor.

After a few supporting roles in various independent films and an episode of the television series Without a Trace , he received in the teen drama series OC, California by Josh Schwartz in 2006 for the first time a recurring guest role as the homeless Darryl . The character was originally supposed to appear in only one episode, in the end Krinsky could be seen in a total of five episodes. When Josh Schwartz was developing a new dramedy television series with Chuck , he offered Krinsky the role of Jeff . This played Krinsky from 2007 in five seasons as part of the main cast. He also played this role in several web series and short films in the series.

Krinsky appears as a stand-up comedian in various comedy theaters, such as the Comedy Store , Laugh Factory and Improv . He is a former member of The Bad Puppets theater company and a current member of TheSpyAnts Theater Company .

He was also seen in various commercials. For example for McDonald’s , Mountain Dew or Dish Network .
