Scott Joseph Touzinsky (born April 22, 1982 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American volleyball player and Olympic champion .

Career

Scott Touzinsky started volleyball in 1990 and continued his career at Long Beach State University . Since 2004 he has played with various clubs in Europe: with the Greek clubs AONS Milon Athens and EA Patras , in Spain with CAI Teruel , in Slovenia with ACH Volley Bled and in Turkey with IBB Istanbul . In 2010 Touzinsky was hired by the German Bundesliga club Berlin Recycling Volleys . After a short interlude at the end of 2011 in Puerto Rico , where he became national champion with Fajardo Cariduros, he returned to the Berliners in January 2012 and became German champion here in April . In 2013 and 2014 he was able to successfully defend the German championship title with the recycling volleys. In 2015 Touzinsky moved to the Shanghai University of Sport in China .

Scott Touzinsky played 79 times for the US national team . He celebrated his greatest successes here in 2008 when he won the world league and won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing .

Scott Touzinsky has been married to Angelique Vogel since 2006 and has a son Logan since 2010.
