Sean Ali

Sean Ali (* 1984 in Dayton , Ohio ) is an American jazz and improvisation musician (bass).

Sean Ali first learned guitar as a teenager before switching to bass guitar and finally to double bass ; he also studied sitar and oud . He has lived in New York City since 2003, where he studied literature and East Asian languages ​​at Eugene Lang College . Since then he has also worked a. a. with the avant-garde band Br'er around Benjamin Schurr and in formations with David Grollman , Frantz Loriot , Brad Henkel , Pascal Niggenkemper ( PascAli ), Yukari , Lathan Hardy and Flin van Hemmen . He also appears as a soloist, is the founder of the ensemble The Mudbath Orchestra and co-founder of the Prom Night Records label . He curated the Ze Couch series with Pascal Niggenkemper .
