Sebastian Erlhofer (* 11. November 1979 in Gräfelfing ) is a German entrepreneur , author and lecturer .

Life

After graduating from high school at Ottheinrich-Gymnasium Wiesloch in 1999, Erlhofer initially studied computer science and psychology at the University of Freiburg . He continued his studies in media studies , sociology and computer science at the University of Trier . He currently lives and works in Cologne.

job and work

After graduating, Erlhofer worked on the DFG- funded research project network communication on the Internet on communication behavior in wikis and weblogs . Here he researched and published mainly in the field of network theory .

In 2004, parallel to his studies, he and Robert Neumcke founded the agency mindshape , which specialized in website development and online marketing with a focus on search engine optimization. The company is currently based in Cologne.

In 2005 he published the first edition of the specialist book Search Engine Optimization, now referred to as a standard work : the comprehensive manual , which he has updated and expanded at regular intervals to this day. There he described the KAKADU principle for the first time .

In 2018 he was honored with the SEMY Award as Search Personality of the Year 2018 at the SMX Munich . He has been giving lectures on online marketing topics at various specialist conferences, chambers (IHK & HWK) and other events for over 10 years.
