Sebastian Henricpetri (also Sebastian Petri ; * 1546 in Basel ; † 1627 ibid) was a printer and publisher from the Petri family in Basel, who was related to Johannes Petreius from Nuremberg .

Sebastian Henricpetri was a son of the printer Heinrich Petri and his first wife, Dorothea Hütschy. From 1572 he printed under his own name, after the death of his father in 1579 he took over the printing press. He published around 300 Latin and German works, including many history books. One of his most famous collaborators was the proofreader, author and editor Nicolaus Höniger . Henricpetri employed important illustrators such as Tobias Stimmer and Gregor Sickinger. For Martin Crusius he printed and published his Germano-Graecia and Turco-Graecia in 1584 . The Cosmographia by Sebastian Münster was also published by Henricpetri. From 1591 he also produced the school books and other printed matter for the Basel grammar school. In addition, "a number of anonymous, smaller theological daily disputes around the turn of the century" were most likely printed by him.

After Sebastian Henricpetri's office had long suffered from financial problems, it finally went bankrupt on March 24, 1626 as a result of the Thirty Years' War , and the aged printer had to leave the house. His successors were probably only active in the book trade and publishing industry. The liquidation of the old and famous company apparently took place in several stages: The company headquarters, the house "Zum Heiligen Geist" and all its accessories were bought by a Faesch, probably the merchant and real estate dealer Johann Rudolf Faesch. He sold the house again the following year. It continued to be printed there, albeit only sporadically, because the great days of Basel book printing were over. In the end, privileges and printing material from the Petrine legacy were bought in 1660 by Hans Jakob (Jacob the Elder) Bertsche.
