Career

From 1993 Kaul played in the youth team of KFC Uerdingen 05 and in 1999 took part in the Junior World Championship alongside teammates like Timo Hildebrand , Christian Timm and Stefan Wessels , from which Germany was eliminated in the preliminary round. For the 1998/99 season he moved into the professional squad and completed 14 games in the second division season, which ended with relegation. After two seasons in the Regionalliga West / Southwest and North , he moved to the second division SV Waldhof Mannheim . There he came to ten missions in two years and went to 1. FC Kleve in 2003 in the Oberliga Nordrhein . Via 1. FC Bocholt , with whom he was relegated to the Niederrhein Association League in 2007, he came back to 1. FC Kleve in 2008. Since then he has played for the 2nd team in the regional league, acted as the team's assistant coach for one season and was player-coach from 2009 to 2011. After the club's first team withdrew financially, Kaul took over as head coach in the summer of 2011. In the first half of the Landesliga Niederrhein he led the club to a good third place in the table, but in January 2012 Kaul resigned from his coaching position.

For the 2012/13 season he returned as an active player on the lawn and joined the newly promoted state league RSV Praest. After two years in Praest, Kaul took over the position of player-coach at the district division SGE Bedburg-Hau in 2014 . In the 2018/19 season he led the SGE to the championship and promotion to the Lower Rhine regional league.
