Christian Timm (born February 27, 1979 in Herten-Westerholt ) is a former German football player . He works as a player advisor .

career

Coming from SG 1928 Herten-Langenbochum, Timm played in Borussia Dortmund's youth department from 1993. With the Borussia he won the German A-Junior Championship in 1996, 1997 and 1998. In 1998 he played in the U-19s of the DFB and took part in the 1999 U-20s at the World Cup in Lagos. In the U-21 he made ten international matches from 1999 to 2001.

The striker played his first Bundesliga game for Borussia Dortmund on April 26, 1997 against Arminia Bielefeld . In the summer of 1999 Timm moved to 1. FC Cologne . Here he immediately became a regular player and at that time was considered a great hope for the German national football team. In the first competitive game against SG Wattenscheid 09 he scored four goals in one game.

In 2002 he moved to 1. FC Kaiserslautern . Due to repeated injury problems, he only made 26 appearances in Kaiserslautern.

In January 2005 Timm was hired by SpVgg Greuther Fürth , where he developed into a regular player again within a short time. The striker completed his most successful season for Fürth in the 2006/07 second division . Due to his recent successes, several first division clubs wanted to sign the attacker.

For the 2007/08 season, Timm moved back to Karlsruher SC in the 1st Bundesliga. There he scored both goals in a 2-0 away win against FC Schalke 04 and thus a Bundesliga goal again after more than four years. In 2009 he was relegated to the Second Bundesliga with KSC. In the following seasons it was only used sporadically - also due to injury. Timm played his longest time as an active footballer in Karlsruhe and ended his career here.

Further life

After his football career, Timm started his bachelor's degree in Sport Business Management at the IST University for Management in Düsseldorf and is now a player's consultant for Bundesliga professionals in women's and men's soccer.
