Career

In the 2004/05 season he played a total of three appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga. The breakthrough to the goalkeeper of the Ahlen family, who have since changed their name to Rot Weiss Ahlen , was only made after relegation to the regional league . There he was voted Player of the Season by fans in the 2006/07 season. After his time in Ahlen, Völzow played for half a year from 2007 at Bonner SC . This was followed by an employment of the same length at Wuppertal SV Borussia . Before moving to SC Verl in 2009, he played again for a year in his hometown, at SC Herford. In the 2010/11 season Völzow was again with Arminia Bielefeld between the posts, but only in the second team. In July 2011 he moved to Warendorfer SU , although he actually wanted to end his career. In March 2019 he joined the Versmold district division SG Oesterweg .

In addition to his playing activities, Völzow also acts as a goalkeeping coach and, most recently, as a sports director. He ended his engagement in the summer of 2015. Since 2014, Völzow has been working as a goalkeeping coach at Arminia Bielefeld's junior performance center. He looks after the goalkeepers from the U14 to the U17. Völzow also went into business for himself in 2008, founded several companies and ran them alongside his coaching work.
