Secret Symphony is the fifth studio album by Georgian - British singer Katie Melua .

history

The album was recorded at Air Studios in London in collaboration with an orchestra and conductor Mike Batt .

The singles Better Than a Dream and The Walls of the World were both originally recorded by Batt for the television series Der Traumstein and for his solo album Schizophonia, which was released in 1977.

At the beginning of March 2012 the album entered the Swiss charts at number 2, also at number 2 in the German , at number 3 in the Austrian and at number 8 in the British album charts.

criticism

"[...]" Secret Symphony "is the perfect album for the fans who have heard the old songs too often and are looking for more of exactly the same kind. Katie Melua purrs slowly as ever and occasionally lets her bluesy, clattering sound be superimposed by something that sounds like orchestral film music. With “Moonshine” a rather snappy song is represented for their standards, otherwise there is a lot of languishing. Occasionally Melua exaggerates this a bit as with “The Cry of the Lone Wolf” - especially when a violin also kicks in. The brain can spontaneously liquefy while listening. [...]
