The Annual sedum ( Sedum annuum ) is a plant from the genus of sedum ( Sedum ) in the family of Crassulaceae (Crassulaceae).
Appearance
The annual sedum plant is a deciduous therophyte , the stature height of 5 to 15 centimeters. There are no non-flowering shoots. The plant is erect, branchy and bare from the bottom. The leaves are 5 to 10 millimeters long, linear and semi-stem-round. The almost sessile, yellow flowers are arranged in branched, loose coils. There are 5 petals . These are twice as long as the sepals . The sepals look similar to the stem leaves.
Flowering time is from June to August.
The chromosome number is 2n = 22.
Occurrence
The annual sedum plant grows on lime-poor rocks and primary rock, on walls and wall crowns, on road embankments, also in river rubble. The species is a species of the Sedo-Scleranthion-Verband and in the Alps it is a species of Sclerantho-Sempervivetum arachnoidei, in the Black Forest of the Sileno-Sedetum. It rises in the Valais up to 2800 meters above sea level.
The distribution ranges from the mountains of Central and Southern Europe north to Iceland and Greenland and east to Asia Minor and the Caucasus.
