Seebarn am Wagram is a former municipality and now a cadastral municipality of the market town of Grafenwörth in the Tulln district in Lower Austria .

geography

The cadastral community of Seebarn is located in the middle of the Tullnerfeld, directly on the edge of the area called Kleiner Wagram . It consists of the places Ober-Seebarn and Unter-Seebarn , which have grown together and are now referred to as Seebarn .

history

The place Seebarn was first mentioned in 1140. The Seebarn taverns have been documented here since 1339 and, as vassals of the Wallseers, also held Seebarn Castle . The places later came under the rule of Grafenegg and constituted itself in 1849 as an independent municipality. The buildings required for this, such as the municipal office and school, were built between the locations.
