The Seekopf is a 1300 m high mountain in Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . It rises up on the east side of the Obersee in the Otto von Gruber Mountains of the Wohlthat massif .
It was discovered and named after its geographical location during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher .
