The Lindlar glider airfield is a glider airfield in the Bergisches Land south of Lindlar , located on the Holzer Kopf . It has been operated by the Bergische Rhön, Lindlar eV (LSV Lindlar) since 1965 , which also has a club home, hangar and workshop north of the runway . It is approved for use with gliders , kites , paragliders and hot air balloons . The only launch method for the former is winch launch . It has a towing section of 900 m in length, of which only the end pieces can be used for flying purposes.

Glider clubs have existed in the region since 1932, after the Allies lifted the flight ban after the Second World War , the airfield was approved and inaugurated in its current location in May 1957. In 1965 two clubs, one of which had previously moved from the Bonn-Hangelar airfield to Lindlar, merge to form LSV Lindlar; In the years that followed, the clubhouse and workshop were finally built.

The glider airfield is subject to a PPR regulation , so it has no fixed operating times.
