Blanik L-23 on approach

The airport building is 520 meters above sea level , but the runway , which is slightly curved to the side, has a gradient of around 30 meters. The radio frequency 130.125 MHz is used for the approach to Mülben. The cat hump can be used very well as a guide . Only gliders, gliders with auxiliary propulsion, touring motor gliders , air sports equipment ( except for gyroscopes ) and, for the purpose of aircraft tow, also powered aircraft are allowed to land on the airfield .

Air sports club

The air sports club (LSV) Hoher Odenwald eV , based in Mülben, trains glider pilots independently as part of its club activities. The aviation club also provides a total of five gliders as a base for its members. The gliders are used for training, cross-country flight , aerobatics and any other kind of flying. Training is currently taking place on a Blanik Let L-23 , which is very popular due to its robust sheet metal construction.
