Seksan Piturat ( Thai เศ ก สรรค์ ปิตุ รัตน์ , born January 2, 1976 in Mae Hong Son ) is a former Thai soccer player.
Club career
Seksan attended Sripatum University in his youth . Seksan, nicknamed James , began his career in 1996 in the Thai Premier League with BEC Tero Sasana . He initially started in the position of defensive midfielder, but was also used in defense. However, his coach said it would be better if he played a striker as it would improve his game. In his first game on the position of the striker, he scored two goals, after which the storm became his future regular position. He played for BEC-Tero Sasana until 2004 and celebrated his greatest triumphs with this club. He ran a total of 149 times for the club and scored 81 goals. With BEC-Tero he won two championships, two runners-up, the Thai Association Cup and in 2003 reached the final of the AFC Champions League . Both in the first leg and in the second leg in the final round, he was in the starting line-up. In the first leg, however, he was replaced in the 26th minute. In 1998 he was named Player of the Year in the Thai Premier League. After 8 years at BEC-Tero, he moved to FC PEA for the 2004/05 season . At the end of the season he again achieved a runner-up title with his new club. From 2006 his career steadily went downhill. Although he helped to return the club FC TOT to the first division and to secure relegation in the following year, he only played in the second division with the clubs FC Raj-Vithi and Police United . In 2008 Seksan finally ended his active career. In 2010 he made his comeback again and played for the lower class North Bangkok University FC until 2012 .
National team career
Seksan played his first international matches in 1999. He took part in the 1999 Southeast Asian Games with the national team. In the group game against the Philippine national soccer team , he scored the 5-0 and scored his first international goal. In the end, he won the gold medal with the team. In 2000 he achieved his greatest success at the national team level when he won the title with Thailand at the ASEAN football championships . By his last international match in 2003, he had completed 47 internationals for his home country and scored 19 goals.
