The 2000 ASEAN football championship , officially the 2000 Tiger Cup , was the third edition of the competition. The championship was hosted by Thailand . All Southeast Asian national soccer teams that belonged to the ASEAN Football Federation are eligible to participate .

The soccer tournament took place from November 5th to November 18th, 2000 in Thailand. The participating countries were:
The game was played in two groups of five or four teams. The group winners and runners-up met in the semi-finals, the winners of the semi-finals then determined the winner of the 2000 ASEAN championship. The semi-final losers played off the tournament third.
