The ASEAN Football Championship 2007 was the sixth edition of the competition. The championship was hosted by Thailand and Singapore . All Southeast Asian national soccer teams were eligible to participate .
qualification
The strongest teams in the ASEAN Football Federation were automatically qualified for the tournament in Thailand and Singapore .
Brunei , Cambodia , Laos , East Timor and the Philippines first had to compete against each other in a qualification. The first two teams of this qualifying tournament, which took place from November 12 to November 20, 2006 in Bacolod , Philippines , were qualified for the 2007 ASEAN Championship.

Laos and the Philippines were thus qualified for the final tournament.
Final tournament
The final tournament, the actual ASEAN Championship 2007, took place from January 12th to February 4th 2007 in Thailand and Singapore.
In addition to the hosts from Thailand and Singapore , Indonesia was also qualified as runner-up in 2004, Malaysia and Myanmar as semi-finalists in the 2004 tournament, as well as Vietnam , Laos and the Philippines .
The game was played in two groups of four teams each. The group winners and runners-up met in the semi-finals, the winners of the semi-finals then determined the winner of the 2007 ASEAN championship. The semi-finals and the final were played in home and return matches.
