Seleschtschyna ( Ukrainian Селещина ; Russian Селещина Seleschtschina ) is a village in the east of the Ukrainian Poltava Oblast with about 3400 inhabitants (2001).
The village was founded in 1656 is the administrative center of the same name, 52.474 km² district municipality in northern Rajon Maschiwka to which even the villages Latyschiwka ( Латишівка , ⊙ ) with about 80 inhabitants, Suchonosiwka ( Сухоносівка , ⊙ ) with about 80 inhabitants and Tymtschenkiwka ( Тимченківка , ⊙ ) with about 90 inhabitants.
The village is located 32 km southeast of the Poltava Oblast center on the banks of the Tahamlyk ( Тагамлик ), a 64 km long tributary of the Worskla , and borders in the southeast on the municipality of the Maschiwka district center . Territorial road T-17-12 runs through the village . The village has a train station opened in 1895 on the Poltava – Rostov railway line .
