The Seligeriaceae are a family of mosses (Bryophyta).
features
With the exception of the genus Blindia, the plants are very small. They are one to eight millimeters high, blindia up to eight centimeters. The stems are simple or divided. They do not form a felt of rhizoids . The leaves have a hollow base, a rib and an awl-shaped end. The gametangia stands are at the top. The capsule is erect and regular, the peristome consists of 16 teeth that are undivided, but they can also be missing. The kalyptra is small and shaped like a cap or hat.
Distribution and systematics
The representatives only colonize rocks. The family belongs to the order Grimmiales and comprises 5 genera:
