Selina Ott

Selina Ott (* 1998 ) is an Austrian trumpeter . In 2018, at the age of 20, she was the first woman to win the ARD Prize in the trumpet category.

Life

Selina Ott comes from a family of musicians. She began her musical education with the piano at the age of five. After a year she learned to play the trumpet from her father Erich Ott. From 2011 to 2016 she attended the highly gifted course with Martin Mühlfellner at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna . In 2015/16 she was also a young student with Reinhold Friedrich at the Musikhochschule in Karlsruhe . Since October 2016 she has been studying concert with Roman Rindberger at the private university of the City of Vienna . Master classes with Allen Vizzutti , Bo Nilsson, Hans Ganschand Gábor Tarkövi complete their training. She is a substitute with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and has won numerous other renowned competitions.
