Seminole is a city in Seminole County, Oklahoma , United States . It has 6,899 inhabitants (2000). During the oil boom of the 1920s, Seminole experienced rapid population growth and attracted people from all over the United States to seek their fortune in the oil business. After the boom, the population decreased again. The Seminole State College is located in the city .
The city has an area of 37.6 km², of which 36.1 km² are land and 1.5 km² (3.93%) are water.
