Sena Tomita ( Japanese 冨 田 せ な , Tomita Sena ; born October 5, 1999 in Niigata Prefecture ) is a Japanese snowboarder . She starts in the halfpipe discipline .

Career

Tomita has been taking part in competitions of the TTR World Snowboard Tour since 2010 and in competitions of the FIS since 2013 . At the Junior World Championships 2015 in Yabuli , she came in 23rd place. In December 2015, she came third twice on the US Revolution Tour at Copper Mountain . She made her first appearance in the Snowboard World Cup in February 2016 in Sapporo , which she finished in ninth place. In the 2016/17 season she won the World Rookie Finals on the Kitzsteinhorn and finished fourth at the Burton US Open in Vail . After finishing tenth in the World Cup in Cardrona and fourth in Copper Mountain at the beginning of the 2017/18 season, she achieved her first podium finish in the World Cup with second place in the Secret Garden Skiresort . At the Winter X Games 2018 in Aspen , she finished seventh in the superpipe. In February 2018, she won the Japanese Championships and finished eighth in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang .
