The Bad Dürrheim transmitter was a broadcast transmission system for short and medium waves south of Bad Dürrheim , which was put into operation on October 16, 1950 by Südwestfunk . It was located between the homestead Anke Buck and State Road 27 in Won Upper scraping . A 120-meter-high, self-radiating transmission mast, insulated from earth, served as the transmission antenna for medium waves, and a 12-meter-high mast with a diameter of four meters was used as the transmission antenna for shortwave.

After Südwestfunk put its new Lake Constance transmitter for short and medium wave into operation near Meßkirch , it handed over the Bad Dürrheim transmitter to the Deutsche Bundespost at the end of 1964 , which used it from February 1, 1965 to broadcast Germany radio with a transmission power of 20 kW .

Since the Deutschlandfunk program in the area covered by the Bad Dürrheim station was also available in sufficient quality via the Ravensburg station from 1968 onwards, no new frequency allocation was applied for within the framework of the Geneva wave plan , and the system came into force on 23 November Closed in 1978.

In the following period, the antenna systems (including the foundations and tuning houses) were dismantled. The former transmitter building is still there and is now used as a residential building.
