The transmitter Himmelhof is a transmitter of the Österreichische Rundfunksender GmbH , which is located on the Himmelhof , a viewing area in the west of Vienna . From this location, some districts in the west of Vienna and the municipality of Purkersdorf , which belongs to Lower Austria, are supplied at the gates of Vienna, which are not reached by the Kahlenberg transmitter due to the geographical conditions . A free-standing concrete tower serves as the antenna carrier.
