The lisnagarvey transmitting station is a broadcasting facility for medium wave near the town of Lisburn in County Antrim , Northern Ireland .
The transmission system is operated by BBC Radio Ulster and broadcasts on the frequency 1341 kHz. The transmitter has an output power of 150 kW and can also be received in Germany in the evening hours.
A guyed, self-radiating half-timbered mast is used as the transmitting antenna , which thickens in the middle and tapers to a point at its base and tip (so-called Blaw-Knox transmission tower ). This transmission mast was built in 1936.
The main transmission mast in Budapest-Lakihegy , a transmission mast for the Wakarel transmitter and the Stara Sagora transmitter (both in Bulgaria ) have a similar construction .
