Seneca Falls is a census-designated place in the city of the same name Seneca Falls in Seneca County ( New York State ).
history
In 1848, the Women's Rights Convention (now known as the Seneca Falls Convention ) was written there at a women's rights convention , led by suffragette Elizabeth Cady Stanton , who lived there with her husband Henry Stanton , and her friend Lucretia Mott . Congress and its final declaration are considered to be the birth of the organized American women's movement.
On December 31, 2011, the administration of what was then the Village of Seneca Falls was dissolved and the place was thus classified as a census-designated place.
