Seong-Jin Cho ( kor. 조성진 ; born May 28, 1994 in Seoul ) is a South Korean pianist .

Life

Seong-Jin Cho was born in Seoul in 1994. He graduated from Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School . He studied piano at the Paris Conservatory with Michel Béroff . He won third prize at the 14th International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow . At the International Chopin Competition 2015 in Warsaw , Cho won first prize.

At the beginning of 2016, Seong-Jin Cho became an exclusive artist for Deutsche Grammophon . He has lived in Berlin since August 2017.

  • 2008: 1st prize at The Sixth Moscow International F. Chopin Competition for Young Pianists of the Frederick Chopin Society Moscow.
  • 2009: 1st prize at the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan.

  • 2014: 3rd place at The 4th A.Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Israel.
  • 2015: Winner of the International Chopin Competition .
