Josef "Sepp" Robert Zellweger (born September 19, 1963 in Altstätten ) is a former Swiss gymnast .

Life

Sepp Zellweger, born in Altstätten Spital , grew up in St. Margrethen with two siblings. He followed the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich on television . Animated by the successes of St. Margreth gymnast Peter Rohner (6th place horse jump), he joined the youth team of the STV St. Margrethen a short time later, in which Peter Rohner (Swiss champion 1971-1973) was also involved. Supported by the reigning Swiss champion, he was already Swiss youth champion at the age of 11. Sepp Zellweger soon switched to the Swiss Federal University of Sports in Magglingen . In 1981 the first prize for young talent was awarded by the Swiss sports aid organization Sepp Zellweger. His athletic career went well, and he was already surpassing his mentor. Sepp Zellweger developed into one of the most successful athletes in Swiss gymnastics and is now one of the legends of the Swiss sports world.

Zellweger was Faculty of Law and Faculty of Economics at the University of Zurich (cand. Iur.) From 1986 to 1992 and Public Relations / Media at the SAWI in Biel / Zurich from 1995 to 1996. Between 2000 and 2001 he had a Marketing / Communications degree at the University of St. Gallen.

From 2001 he was a member of the management of Credit Suisse Group AG and from 2007 a member of the management of the client foundations of Credit Suisse Group AG Information according to the website of the Citizens' Forum Bergdietikon.

Zellweger is Chairman of the Technical Committee of the World University Sports Association FISU (Fédération International du Sport Universitaire), Brussels and an honorary member of the St. Gallen Gymnastics Association (SGTV). From 2009 he was a member of the Bergdietikon Finance Commission.

He has lived in Bergdietikon since 2007 .
