Career

Reijonen began his career for Finland at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble . He achieved 40th place in the individual competition on the normal hill.

At the ski flying world championship in Planica in 1972 , Reijonen flew to 32nd place. A short time after the World Cup, he moved to Sweden and took Swedish citizenship. Reijonen made his international debut for Sweden, who meanwhile started for the Holmens IF , in the Four Hills Tournament 1976/77 , which he finished 64th overall after rather poor individual results. The best single result of the tour was rank 60 on the Schattenbergschanze in Oberstdorf .

At the ski flying world championship in 1977 in Vikersund he reached the 35th place. After he did not start in the Four Hills Tournament in 1977/78 , Reijonen jumped from the large hill to 96 and 97 meters at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1978 and thus reached 25th place. From the normal hill he jumped 49th place with 68.5 and 70.5 meters. Together with Jan Holmlund , Odd Brandsegg and Lennart Elimä , he finished sixth with the team. A little later, Reijonen won his first and only national title at the Swedish Championships.

On his last Four Hills Tournament in 1978/79 , he achieved his best individual tour result with 44th place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and finished the tour in 57th place overall. After the end of his active career in the same year, Reijonen began working as a youth coach in Fagersta . In 2007 he was awarded the Fagerstapris by the Vänsterpartiet for his work in Fagersta .
