Serge Branco (born October 11, 1980 in Cayenne , Cameroon ) is a former Cameroonian football player . He also has French nationality.
Club career
Branco began his career as a professional footballer in 1998 at Eintracht Braunschweig . In 2000 he moved to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga , in 2003 from there to VfB Stuttgart , where he played more games for the second than for the first team. After a total of 21 Bundesliga games and two goals for Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart, he went to England to Leeds United in 2004 , where he was unable to assert himself, however., In 2005 he moved to the second division side Queens Park Rangers , before the midfielder via Schinnik Jaroslawl in 2006 ended up at Krylja Sowetow Samara in Russia . After he was removed from the squad there in January 2008, Branco kept fit at the English third division club Millwall . For the 2008/09 season he moved to the second division club MSV Duisburg . Although he was a regular under Rudi Bommer , he was sorted out by the new Duisburg head coach Peter Neururer during the winter break and should look for a new club. For the 2009/10 season Branco moved to the Greek first division club APO Levadiakos , where he signed a contract that ran until 2012. For Levadiakos he completed 18 league games. For the 2010/2011 season he moved to Poland to Wisła Krakow , with whom he became Polish champion in 2011.
National team career
Branco played a total of twelve international matches for the Cameroon national football team . At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 he won the gold medal with his country.
Managerial career
After retiring from his career, Branco became general manager of the Cameroonian second division team Bamboutos de Mbouda in November 2016 .
