Serge Douy

Serge Douy (* 1941 in France ) is a French film architect .

Life

Douy learned his trade under his father Max Douy in the 1960s and worked for him on productions such as La cavale and Die Rum-Straße at the beginning of the following decade . At his side, Douy Jr. made his debut. 1972 as co-chief architect for the gangster film Die kleine Bosse . In 1978, Serge returned to Max Douy's side as an assistant to build the film for the lavish James Bond adventure Moonraker - top secret . Serge's uncle Jacques Douy , who also worked as a film architect, was involved in this film in a subordinate role .

Serge Douy was a sought-after film architect, especially in the 1980s, who designed the buildings for an abundance of entertainment productions, most of which can be found in the thriller and crime film genre. During this time he worked with directors such as Yves Boisset , Philippe Labro and Robert Altman, as well as with stars such as Lino Ventura , Michel Piccoli , Alain Delon and Catherine Deneuve . In the course of the early 1990s, Serge Douy was increasingly affected by unemployment and then withdrew from the profession altogether towards the middle of the decade.
