Sergei Beljajew ( Kazakh Серге́й Беля́ев ; born May 8, 1960 in Tashkent , Uzbek SSR ) is a former Kazakh sports shooter .

Sergei Belyayev, who was active at Dinamo Almaty , took part in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta . With the air rifle he scored 577 points and finished the competition on the shared 38th place among a total of 44 participants, 14 points away from the qualifying places for the final. In the three-position fight with the small-bore rifle, like Jean-Pierre Amat , he got 1175 points in qualification, which was the highest number of points achieved in the qualification and at the same time a new Olympic record. In the final he was only the sixth best shooter among the eight finalists with 97.3 points, but with his total of 1,272.3 points he was second behind Amat and won the bronze medal ahead of Wolfram Waibel . He also made it to the finals in the competition with the small caliber in the prone position after scoring 598 points in qualifying and taking fourth place. His final result of 105.3 points was the best of the competition round, so that he passed Sjarhej Martynau and Jozef Gönci and won another silver medal behind Christian Klees and ahead of Gönci.

While Belyayev could not win a medal at world championships , he secured bronze in the prone position with a small-bore rifle at the Asian championships in 2000 in Pulau Langkawi . At the Asian Games in 1994 in Hiroshima he won the gold medal in the individual competitions with the small-bore rifle in both the lying and kneeling position, while he took third place in the three-position battle. In the team competitions he secured the silver medal in the three-position battle and the bronze medal in the horizontal position. In Busan , Belyayev won the gold medal again in 2002 in a lying position with the small caliber and also repeated winning the bronze medal with the team. In the three-position battle, he also took third place in the team competition. In 2006 in Doha he was third in the prone position with the small caliber and secured his fourth and final title at the Asian Games in the team competition.

He is married and has two children.
