Sergei Konstantinowitsch Botschkow ( Russian Сергей Константинович Бочков ; * June 25, 1949 , † August 9, 2004 ) was a Soviet ski jumper .

Career

Botschkow made his first international appearance at the Four Hills Tournament in 1972/73 . After a 17th place in Oberstdorf and an eighth place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , he surprisingly won the jumping on the Bergiselschanze in Innsbruck . After he also achieved second place on the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze in Bischofshofen , he finished third in the overall tournament ranking.

At the ski flying world championship in 1973 in Oberstdorf he reached 39th place in the individual competition. For the Four Hills Tournament 1973/74 Botschkow hoped for a repeat of the success from the previous year. However, he could not jump to the front ranks in any of the competitions. His best placement was 24th in Innsbruck. Botschkow finished the tour with 782.4 points in 38th place in the tour's overall ranking.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1974 in Falun , Botschkow jumped from the normal hill to 18th place and 31st place on the large hill.
