Sergei Novikov (born March 26, 1984 ) is an Estonian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Vipers Tallinn in the Meistriliiga since 2017 .

Career

Novikov began his career as a hockey player at HK Central in Kohtla-Järve . In 2003 he moved to local rival Kohtla-Järve Viru Sputnik , for whom he played for three years. After two years with clubs from the capital Tallinn , the Eagles and Purikad , he returned to the Sputniks in Kohtla-Järve in 2009, with whom he became Estonian champions in 2010 . In 2012 he moved to Tallinn Viiking Sport and was able to win his second championship title there in 2013. He then joined Tartu Kalev-Välk , for whom he was on the ice for two years in the Meistriliiga and with whom he won his third championship title in 2015. In 2015 he returned to the Viru Sputniks for one season and has been playing for HC Vipers Tallinn since 2017 .

International

With the Estonian national team , he took part in the World Championships in Division I in 2011 and 2013 and in Division II in 2012 , when he was immediately promoted back to Division I.
