Sergei Vytauto Puskepalis
Sergei Vytauto Puskepalis ( Russian Сергей Витауто Пускепалис ; born April 15, 1966 in Kursk ) is a Russian actor and theater director. In 2009 he received the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation ( Заслуженный артист Российской Федерации ).
life and career
Sergei Puskepalis was born in Kursk in 1966 as the son of a Lithuanian and a Bulgarian from Moldova . He studied at the Saratov Theater Academy , in the meantime served in the Soviet Navy and then worked as an actor at the Saratov Academy Theater. He also attended the Russian Academy of Theater Arts and graduated from there in 2001. In 2003 he had his first film role in The Walk . From 2003 to 2007 he was artistic director of the Pushkin Theater in Magnitogorsk , from 2009 to 2010 he directed the Volkov Drama Theater in Yaroslavl . In parallel, he had more and more appearances in films. In 2008 he was awarded a Nika for best new discovery for his role in the film The Simple Things . In 2010 published How I Ended This Summer directed by Alexei Popogrebski , Puskepalis played one of the two main roles. For this he won the Silver Bear as best actor at the Berlinale 2010 together with Grigori Dobrygin . Since then, Puskepalis has appeared in numerous other Russian films.
His son Gleb Puskepalis played one of the leading roles in the 2003 film Koktebel .
