Sergio Garrone

Sergio Garrone (born April 15, 1925 in Rome ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Garrone is the twin brother of actor Riccardo Garrone . In 1948 he first worked as an assistant director , shot documentaries and was a production assistant until 1953. After taking a break from the film business, he returned in the mid-1960s. His first own film was the western Other prayers - Django shoots in 1968. This was followed by other spaghetti westerns , including Django, which is highly regarded by genre fans, and the gang of bloodhounds . In the middle of the following decade he contributed two films to the controversial genre of the "Nazicamp films" .

The films made in South America in the 1980s are attributed to him, but were actually made by Gianni Siragusa .

He also used the pseudonyms Kenneth Freeman and Willy S. Regan .
