action

In the American Civil War, the betrayal of three Confederate officers killed an entire battalion of Southern soldiers. After the end of the war, the silent gunslinger Django appears in the small town of Dirty City, in which the unscrupulous businessman and ex-major Murdok and his psychopathic brother Rod rule. He is the only survivor of the massacre at the time and is now seeking revenge for his comrades. He quickly kills two of those responsible, having previously marked the date of their death. The third is Murdok, who hires a whole group of gunslingers, the gang of bloodhounds, out of fear and to defend himself from the ghostly Django. But they don't stand a chance against Django's lists and skills either. Left alone, Murdok has to face a duel that he cannot win. Django walks away after graduation.

Reviews

The German critics of later times recognized a certain class in the film, according to Ulrich Bruckner (“This film is not only the best unofficial Django sequel, but also the best film by director Sergio Garrone, who has made a little masterpiece here. In the role of the Django we see an excellent Anthony Steffen, who was also never better than in this film. ”) or Christian Keßler (“ An absolutely great example of an individualistic, completely solitary B-Western, which is conventional in and of itself Turns history into an exemplary horror story about the connection of past and present [...] Django is no longer a person, but a symbol for retribution, for the criminal court that is waiting for us poor sinners! ”), While the colleagues of the International Film lexicons formulated more cautiously: “In the details of entertaining spaghetti westerns, but without dramaturgical conception and rich I'm bloodthirsty. ”H. Arnault classifies the film as an homage to Sam Peckinpah .
