Sergio Melillo
Sergio Melillo (born November 16, 1955 in Avellino , Italy ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Ariano Irpino-Lacedonia .
Life
Sergio Melillo received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Avellino on September 9, 1989 .
In 2005 he became vicar general of the diocese of Avellino and in 2009 he was also cathedral priest at the cathedral of Avellino.
On May 23, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Ariano Irpino-Lacedonia . He received his episcopal ordination on July 31st of that year by the Bishop of Avellino, Francesco Marino . Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Italy, Archbishop Adriano Bernardini , and the Bishop of Caserta , Giovanni D'Alise . The inauguration in the diocese of Ariano Irpino-Lacedonia took place on August 9 of the same year.
Sergio Melillo is Grand Officer of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .
