Sertan Günes (born August 15, 1982 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player with Turkish ancestors. He plays in the position of the striker .

Life

Günes grew up in Vienna. At the age of six he became a club player for the first time at Post SV and played there up to the U16 in the youth team. At the age of 16 he made it into the squad of the fighting team and became a regular player in a short time. He experienced ups and downs with the Post SV team. In the 2000/01 season he had to accept relegation from the city league to the major league. Two years later he made it back to the Vienna City League and was one of the main players with 27 goals.

In the 2003/04 season he came to the regional division Wiener Sportklub and scored eight goals in his first season. In the following four years he was very successful with a total of 37 goals and several assists .

In the summer of 2007 he left the Vienna sports club and initially wanted to move to Scotland in the Scottish Premier League (SPL). His transfer failed shortly before the transfer period and Günes had to take a break for half a year. For four months he was allowed to keep fit with Vienna , the city rival of the Vienna Sports Club, rejecting an offer from Döblinger Vienna and moving to Austria Lustenau in the First League , the second highest Austrian division, in January 2008 . There Günes scored eight goals in 25 appearances for Vorarlberg . The contract was terminated by mutual agreement in February 2009. On the last day of the transfer transfer period, he returned to his old club, Wiener Sportklub.

In the 2014/15 season, after the departure of Kurt Jusits, Günes was three rounds player-coach at the Vienna Sports Club. After a dispute with his successor Johannes Uhlig, Günes was suspended from the squad in February 2015. After the 2014/15 season, Günes signed with SV Stripfing in the 2nd regional league. In spring 2017 he moved to the Vienna City League for ASK Elektra . He won the totocup with Ask Elektra. In the final against Wiener Viktoria, Günes scored both goals. After half a season, Günes moved to FC Mauerwerk in the regional league. After the 2017/2018 season he put his active career on hold and is currently working as a player consultant for the agency Sbe-Management AG.
