Sewercide is an Australian death and thrash metal band from Melbourne that was founded in 2011.

history

The band was formed in January 2011. The following year, the split release States of Decay followed with random order . In 2013 two more followed with Casket and Presumed Dead. In the same year Thomas Jackson was added as a further guitarist and the singer Hugh Lunn was replaced by Harry Watson. In 2014 the band took part in tours with Grave and Wehrmacht as well as DRI and Krisiun . In 2016 the debut album Immortalized in Suffering was released via Unspeakable Ax Records .

style

Luxi Lahtinen from metalcrypt.com wrote in his review of Severing the Mortal Cord that the band plays a wild mix of Thrash and Death Metal, based on early Demolition Hammer and early Malevolent Creation . While the vocals are closer to Thrash Metal, the electric guitars are moving more towards Death Metal. Simon Dümpelmann from Rock Hard also found a mix of death and thrash metal on Immortalized in Suffering . You mix “primarily the Thrash ingredients” with “more groovy death moments”. Unlike similar Australian bands to avoid it "in any blackened lo-fi crackle or losing it on the other side with the more traditional heavy metal - pathos having to exaggerate." He could agree with comparisons with Demolition Hammer or Immolation , which he had already read elsewhere.
