description

"Anti-masturbation machine" from the 1920s

The museum is located near the Old Town Square , in a historic building from the 17th century. On an area of 600 m² on three floors, around 200 ancient, medieval and modern objects for generating, increasing or restricting sexual arousal are exhibited. Some of them are equipped with flexible mannequins or sex dolls for better understanding . Among them are SM-furniture such as a smotherbox , vibrators , dildos (also on exercise bikes ) and other sex toys , a wooden sex machine in rocker form a "magic box", as predecessor of Peepshow was used at markets and village festivals, hand claws, iron Corsets and a chastity belt from the late 16th century with sharp metal spikes in front of the vaginal entrance . There is a small cinema on the ground floor showing excerpts from Spanish porn film productions from the early 20th century. Prostitutes' shoes are on display from ancient Greece , with the inscription “Follow my steps” on the soles, so that the imprint could be seen on the soft ground. The museum also shows a portable "anti-masturbation machine" from France from the 1920s, with a ring that was placed around the penis of an adolescent boy. The boy's erection led to the ringing of a bell next to the parents' bed.

Soon after the museum opened, there were negative reactions from the authorities. A city spokesman said it was particularly annoying that the museum is in the historic part of the city. Visitors could get the wrong picture of Prague. Attention is also drawn to the proximity to the famous astronomical clock at the Old Town Hall , which could be particularly confusing for children. These protests generated increased public attention from tourists .
