Shahjahanpur is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .

Shahjahanpur is located in the North Indian Plain 150 km northwest of Lucknow . The city is located at the mouth of the Khanaut and the Garra River , a left tributary of the Ganges . It is the administrative seat of the district of the same name .

The national highway NH 24 (Lucknow - New Delhi ) runs through Shahjahanpur.

As a city, Shahjahanpur has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . It is divided into 44 wards . At the 2011 census, Shahjahanpur had 329,736 inhabitants.
