After working with her fellow student, the Australian composer Padma Newsome , she added a string quartet. In 2001 she released the album Quiet B-Sides (also called The Orange Album ), on which mostly songs from the Word album were re-recorded and revised, followed by a remix album in 2003. After the tour with Sufjan Stevens, Nova gave her project the name My Brightest Diamond and worked on the two albums A Thousand Shark's Teeth (with string quartet) and Bring Me the Workhorse (more oriented towards rock). Tours with Sufjan Stevens (2006) and The Decemberists (2007) followed. In October 2011 the album All Things Will Unwind was released .
